Meet Our Board of Directors

Carol Montandon is the former Global Chief Quality Officer and Worldwide Vice President Quality & Compliance for Johnson & Johnson. In this role, she had end-to-end accountability for Quality and Compliance across the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Consumer Sectors. Carol retired from Johnson & Johnson on December 31, 2023, after more than 29 years. While at Johnson & Johnson, Carol held roles of increasing responsibility in the Medical Technology and Consumer Health Sectors. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson in 1994, she was with Baxter Diagnostics in Switzerland. Carol is recognized as a leader in Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain and Compliance.    

As a fierce advocate of talent and, most notably, supporting female career advancement, Carol was the Global Chair of the Johnson & Johnson Women’s Leadership and Inclusion (WLI) Group for over seven years. 

Carol is currently Chair of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Foundation and Chair of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Nominating Committee. She previously served as the Chair of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Board of Directors in 2024 where she was passionate about furthering the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare.    

Carol holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Evansville and an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business.  

Carol has been married to her husband, Denis, for 35 years and they have two daughters, Talissa and Amanda. Carol is also the proud “Mimi” to her granddaughters Charlotte and Matilda. 

Rebecca Vermeulen, R.Ph., brings a variety of experiences to The HBA Foundation Board of Directors. Rebecca is currently Vice President, Global Patient Partnership at Roche Pharmaceuticals. She serves as Chair of the Genentech Patient Foundation, Co-chair of the Board for Patient Focused Medicines Development (PFMD), Board Member for the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley, Past Chair Board of Directors for the Drug Information Association (DIA), Chair Emeritus Corporate Board of Directors for the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA). In addition, she is a Champion for the Roche International Women’s Network. Rebecca was recognized as one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in the Life Science Industry by PharmaVOICE 2020. 

Rebecca has amplified her leadership and influence across the pharmaceutical industry for more than 30 years leading a variety of functions within Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Sales, Medical Communications, Medical Science Liaisons, Patient Partnership, Digital Health, and Six Sigma. She is currently the Head of Patient Partnership for Global Medical Affairs at Roche.  

Rebecca’s impact spans across multiple organizational disciplines where she has been instrumental in creating global standards for engaging with healthcare professionals and patients. With a recognized track record of success, she knows how to demonstrate value bringing new treatments to patients. 

Tanya Silva Alcorn is the Senior Vice President of Sterile Injectables and Biotech Operations at Pfizer, overseeing 19 global manufacturing sites that produce over 4 billion doses of medicines and vaccines annually. With more than 20 years at Pfizer, she previously led the Global Supply Chain and played a pivotal role in distributing Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and treatment, spearheading innovations like the thermal shipper, now housed in the Smithsonian.  

A first-generation American from New Jersey, Tanya holds degrees in Biological Science and Systems Engineering. She was recently named one of the “Top 50 Women Leaders in Healthcare for 2025” by Women We Admire and is a member of CHIEF. Passionate about mentoring women in STEM, she sponsors a Pfizer mentorship program and champions authentic leadership, especially for women in male-dominated fields.   

Tanya is married with three children and enjoys traveling with her family. 

Dianne Auclair Rocha is a visionary leader and the Senior Vice President and Therapeutic Area Head for Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic (CRM), at Novartis. In this role, she is responsible for the cross-functional strategy and commercialization of the current and future (10+ year) CRM pipeline, balancing near term performance and execution while shaping mid-to-long range strategy for the US business.  

With a career spanning nearly three decades, Dianne has consistently demonstrated her ability to balance performance with a people-centric approach, lead through change and navigate complexity. She is renowned for her strategic acumen and her unwavering commitment to inspire teams to have an extreme external customer focus in order to drive innovation and patient impact.  

Between Johnson & Johnson and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Dianne has held various leadership roles across sales, marketing, commercial strategy, and general management. Her extensive experience working across several therapeutic areas includes working in Novartis’s Global headquarters in Switzerland, serving as a point of contact for Latin American business, and completing a rotation in China.  

Dianne is an active member of the healthcare community, serving on the Global Board of Directors for the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), the Board of Directors for The HBA Foundation, and representing Novartis on the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC). In 2024, she was honored as an HBA Luminary for her dedication to developing future leaders and her impactful leadership for patients. 

A graduate of Drexel University, where she played field hockey, Dianne resides in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, with her husband, Ricardo, their son, Pablo Andres, and nephew Santiago. The couple also has four older children, Angela, Danny, David, and Sebastian, who are at various stages of "adulting." 

Dianne's leadership extends beyond her professional achievements. She is a passionate advocate for collaboration and innovation in the health and medical R&D ecosystem, contributing to discussions on key challenges and opportunities in health research and innovation.

Nancy Santilli is a distinguished executive with more than 30 years of experience in the health and life sciences sectors. She is a committed advocate for improving access to quality healthcare and advancing the role of women within the industry. Nancy brings substantial expertise and dedication to The HBA Foundation, contributing her leadership capabilities honed through positions in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Her career includes overseeing initiatives focused on care delivery, education, services, and innovative treatment solutions. With a comprehensive understanding of effective healthcare leadership, she demonstrates how to build and sustain resilient organizations for future generations. Additionally, Nancy has played an active role in fundraising and securing financial resources to support organizational sustainability. Her decision to join The HBA Foundation reflects her belief that investing in women’s health and professional development is pivotal to fostering a healthier society. 

Mary Stutts is CEO of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association; a global organization whose mission is to further the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare.  

Stutts is one of the leading voices championing organizational readiness for inclusive leadership, workforces that are representative of all stakeholders, and health access that drives maximum market penetration at some of the world’s most prominent biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare and media companies including Genentech, Bristol Myers Squibb, Bayer, UnitedHealth Group, Kaiser Permanente, Stanford Health Care and Comcast NBCUniversal. She has advised and consulted for public, private and academic organizations and is a sought-after speaker and workshop leader. 

She serves on the advisory boards of private companies Wellist, Trial Library, Slone Partners and Hawthorne Effect. She previously served on the Board of Zogenix before it was acquired by UCB. 

Stutts is an accomplished author whose book, The Missing Mentor:  Women Advising Women on Power, Progress and Priorities has been dubbed a surrogate mentor for women focused on career advancement. 

Growing up as a foster child from the age of five led Stutts to form The Center for Excellence in Life (TCEL), a 501c3 organization focused on developing youth and women aspiring to leadership positions. TCEL’s Virtual Internship Program to help prepare youth for the healthcare workforce of the future has received nationwide recognition and media coverage. 

Stutts earned a Master of Health Administration degree at the University of Southern California and is a graduate of the Executive Program on Strategy and Organization at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. 

Jim Weiss, Founder and Chairman of Real Chemistry, is a healthcare, biopharma and medical tech visionary, entrepreneur, business leader, investor, citizen advocate and digital health pioneer. Over the past 24 years, he evolved Real Chemistry from a one-person consultancy to a global health innovation company that uses real-world data, proprietary technologies and analytical insights to solve the health care industry’s most significant challenges. Jim is deeply invested in various non-profit organizations and currently serves on the boards of the Foundation for the Institutes of Health, the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Foundation, Cancer Research Institute, FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) and LAGRANT Foundation. His dedication extends to the American Cancer Society CEO’s Executive Advisory Council and the Board of Congregation Emanu-El. Jim has been involved with the HBA as an advisor for more than a decade and is the organization’s 2025 Honorable Mentor of the Year.
